Introduction

Extensive research confirms that personalised support significantly improves learning outcomes in mathematics.

Providing personalised learning support to every student to improve learning outcomes is a major challenge, given factors such as global teacher shortages and limited financial resources.

At Ivoprog, we have developed Ivo Coach, a maths learning coach, to meet these needs. By harnessing AI, we can now enable personalised support and response to different learning needs. This will particularly benefit students belonging to linguistic minorities and those with neurodiversity.

In addition to supporting maths learning, using Ivo Coach also provides a safe environment to learn how to use AI, an important skill for the future.

What is Ivo Coach?

Ivo Coach is an interactive AI-based math tutor that supports learning by providing intensive and low-threshold support. Ivo Coach does not give direct answers, but gives hints on how to solve the tasks and guides you step by step. In addition to the tasks, You can also ask Ivo Coach to explain mathematical phenomena or generate exercises at different levels. You can enter the problem or phenomenon in a text box, add a picture or type it in the maths editor.

  2. Enter your login ID, and log in.

Do not disclose your password to anyone. If a user is found to be sharing credentials, the user may be suspended.

MPASSid login

Not applicable to private customers. Only applies to customers who have received an Ivo Coach user ID from a teacher or other service subscriber.

  1. Click here to log in to the app.
  2. Click on "Login with MPASSid" which will open a pop-up window. In the pop-up, log in with MPASSid according to your organization's instructions.
  3. Enter the code provided by your organization.

How to use

  1. If you are a private customer, select the maths sub-area. If you have received Ivo Coach user ID from a teacher or other service subscriber, select the maths course you are completing. Once you have selected an area, you will then be taken to the chat view.

    If you don't know which area your question or assignment relates to, or there is no suitable topic listed, don't worry! The purpose of the breakdown is to help the user to grasp the mathematics as a whole, for example if you are taking a particular course. Ivo Coach will be able to answer your questions regardless of the sub-area you choose.

  2. Please write or paste the questions in the text box. You can also do this by using the math editor or by pasting a picture.

    Ivo Coach will help you from the very beginning. For example, if you are unfamiliar with a word or a mathematical concept, you can ask Ivo Coach about it:

    • What is the meaning of addition?
    • What is an equation?
    • What is an equation? Give an example of addition.

    If you are a more advanced user and want a challenge, you can ask Ivo Coach for exercises in the area you want to improve:

    • Could you help prove that the square root of two is an irrational number.
    • I have a hard time with probability calculus. Create a task to calculate the probability of an event.
    • Create a difficult integration exercise / Create easier integration exercise.
  3. Ask Ivo Coach to clarify its answer if the topic remains unclear. Continue the conversation until you feel you understand the problem.
  4. When you want to move on to a new task or topic, click on the "New chat" button.

Subscription cancellation for private customers

To cancel the subscription, the user must be logged into the service. The subscription can be cancelled from the user's profile on the homepage via a button labeled "Cancel subscription". After that, the service will ask for a confirmation. The cancellation is confirmed by typing "CANCEL" in the text field and pressing the "Confirm cancellation" button. The subscription can be cancelled at any time.

Possible problem situations

Ivo Coach requires the use of some third party services. If Ivo Coach stops working, it is probably a case of a loss of use of these services. This may be related to the language model we use or the login method we use.

If you are unable to log in or Ivo Coach stops working, please try again in a moment. If the problem persists for more than an hour, please inform our team of the problem either via email info@ivoprog.com or via the feedback function in the app.

Ivo Coach is based on the latest technology. If you notice that the AI is "hallucinating", please report this as well. Your feedback is important to us and we take every feedback into account.
